Default DeSume 0.9.9 Normal save question

Hi there, I'm pretty much a layman when it comes to these things, but managed to get this thing running through watching youtube vids. Now I can't figure out how to save (I don't want to Save state or Load state) I want to save in game, with the in game prompt. But whenever I try to save, it says "Save Failed", so I am forced to save state. is there anything i'm supposed to set up to save normally? Thanks.

What games are you talking about? Of all games I've played on desmume, they've managed to save properly on default settings.
    System Specs are Win7 Home Premium x64 SP1, i3-2310M @2.1GHz, 4GB Ram and 128MB Intel HD Graphics 3000.

Click the thanks button if I helped in any way!

On the menu, go to Config->Autodetect Save Type

Is it Internal or From Database?

Never mind, you gave me an idea. I tried playing Pokémon and saving and it worked--so it is obviously the rom itself.

Good to see you solved the problem

EDIT: It should be the rom otherwise it's just the emu.

    Try getting a new rom

I'm halfway through, so I may as well finish it, but in future I'll certainly be testing them first, and thank you for the help.
