    Default VBA-M slow down problems with magnification filters.

    I've been playing lots of GBA games for quite a while on VBA-M, but whenever I put the magnification filter on, the game runs normally at full speed for about 10-20 mins before VBA slows down to 3% and crashes.

    Is there a way to fix this? Or do I have to play without the filters?

    EDIT: I was using VBA-M, not normal VBA, if that helps.

    sneaky way to get a bigger image is just to lower the desktop res

    ctrl - in internet browsers will make the display smaller, handy if you have the desktop at lower res settings ctrl + makes it bigger again

    You could also just try another version of VBA-M, can't say I bother with GBA on PC though nowerdays, so I do not know what is causing the problem :/

    I was sure you could set the res higher anyway in VBA (-M is no different from the Original, but -M adds various hacks, so -M should be able to have the res changed aswell)

    The first one you said didn't help much, trying the latest version of VBA-M.

    I was kinding of asking about the pixel filters but are you talking about the resolution e.g. 1280x720 or something? Tried the lowest one i could get 640x480 and the one above it.

    lol I did say I don't emulate this now, so not in a great pos to help, updating the emulator or even downgrading though, if the issue is with the actual emulator is going to help.

    Well the emu did it again (what happened in the first post), with and without the filters. But thanks for your suggestions.

    Can you use the filter with D3D instead of OpenGL? or vice versa

    I was filtering using D3D, haven't tried OpenGL. I'll test it

    Good thing I have a long battle on M&L - SS so I can test 10-20 mins.

    Looks like OpenGL filters solved my problem. I'll post again if I run into another problem
