x men 2 clone wars (mega drive) on kfusion

hey folks.
im trying to run x men 2 clone wars on kfusion (3.64) but every time i load the rom it opens at the start of the level with a random character. i never see the title screen or have the chance to pick a character.
i have also tried multiple roms from different sites and also tried Gens (2.11) as a different emulater but no luck
any ideas?

That's what's supposed to happen. After that level you can choose etc..
