Default ePSXe / .cue file converts into VCLmediafile(.cue) instead off .bin

    Hi Everybody!,

First of all, i have to appollogize for my bad english (im not american, british either) , and i hope you don't have to much trouble reading 'nd understanding this.

So my problem is that i downloaded a twisted metal 4 rom for the psx, i opened it with winrar but there were only VLC media files.
I unpacked the VLCmediafile(.cue) and converted it with EMC tool into a normal .cue file (Twisted Metal 4.cue).
HERE'smy problem: When i try to unECM it, it converts back into this F***** VLCMediafile(.cue). but i need a .bin file to run it with the emulator.
Im sorry if it's a stupid question, but i really don't know how to run that game. It was a big part of my childhood.
Before you ask: Yes i searched at the internat a couple of hours, and now i decided to register at this site to ask somebody who could help me out.
thanks for your attention and for helpfull answers!

Don't worry about it - VLC is just associated with that file type. You could select it in the emulator even though it shows the vlc cone thingy and it'll still work. You can use the options in vlc to disassociate from that filetype too if you want. Do ou have the .bin though? Just a cue by itself won't do anything.

maybe, something isnt right with the download file. Because in that .rar file are only vlc files. i just saw that all the other files have a .bin but they are tracks. Ingame music. and this one .cue file, nothing else with a .bin

Do you have your windows set to show file extensions for every file?

Only unecm ecm files to output a bin or img file.
If these are associated with VLC media player they will show as a VLC media file (.bin) after the unecm process though this is still a *.bin file
VLC media file (.cue) is also fine for the cue file

neither stop ePSXe from working with them

ePSXe can read VLC media file (.cue) & VLC media file (.bin) just fine

These are english instructions, you may need to translate these for your use, as your version of windows will be set to your language.

If you need more help, while you have the folder open with the files in
press F10 on your keyboard (this will show a top bar menu for the folder)
Click Tools then click Folder Options
    Click the View Tab
Remove the tick next to Hide extensions for known file types
    Click Apply then Click OK

The above will show the exact file extensions you have

If you are still struggling, take a screen shot of your folder after you have set the above so we can see what exact files you have for the game, so we can advise you on what to do next
