Default Pcsx2 random drops in performance

My processor (the fx 8350) isn't staying at load. My fps drops from 60 to 25-30 at random moments and at the same time my processor cores go from 4ghz to 1.3ghz. I]ve already disabled my power saving features from my bios, but it still happens. Any Idea how to fix this?

Are you using a laptop or a desktop PC? Does your device seem to overheat?

All of them. The ones i tried are Valkyrie profile 2: silmeria, Ar Tonelico 2, Dragon Quest VIII, Dark Cloud 2, and Steambot Chronicles

I checked the compatibility and they all should be pretty good except Steambot which is just a step down. Your processor shouldn't have any problems - are you running a ton of crap in the background? What kind of graphics card/chip do you have?

You could try at native resolution and work your way up from there until things start to bog down. Also you could do some speedhack work like checking the MTVU hack. Maybe even put up the EE cyclerate a single point and see if it increases your frame rate.

i have a 550 ti, and they all run at 60 fps for like a half hour at x4 resolution, it only goes down to 24-30 fps for like 10 minutes, but its constant and annoying

and no.. i don't have anything running in my background except steam.

(edit) I fixed the issue, please lock this thread.
