Also, I might be an otaku, but at the same time I'm really not. I really hate the term, honestly, and want to distance myself from all the "creepy basement dweller" stereotypes. Yes, yes! I am now mildly interested in Kanji. (I knew isha as well because of that chopper dude in one piece) Honestly I really am interested in learning Japanese, but I have to focus on other things now. My life is pretty much shit, and it'll go downwards forever if I don't get out of this country soon...

If I do get out, I'll have time to pursue it more seriously.

But when you use the same word in Chinese (where it's read "xiansheng"), more often than not it just means "mister", and is more or less the equivalent of the Japanese "-san". Oh foreign languages, you so confusing~

In my case, it's inverted: it's because of anime that I got into video gaming.

Even if you're super-busy, if you can spare even half an hour a day, that will be helpful.

I'm not busy at all. I'm just too stressed to learn anything. Seriously, I'm not even sure whether I'll be alive next year. I'll start learning it when I'm sure I'll live long enough to use it.
