I can't really blame them though. Signle-player JRPGS just don't make that much money anymore. Unless it's Dragon Quest. The real money is in MMOs , subscription fees, and micro-transactions.

Yep, and I refuse to give in to it.

Btw I don't think I ever asked, does that 32x I sold you work? I never had a way to test it when I had it.

    Hell yeah man.

Still trying to get my hands on a copy of Sega Ages 2500 Phantasy Star Complete Collection for a decent price. It has Japanese and English versions of all four original games on it. As well as an option to increase walking speed in PS2&3. Also I might be wrong, but I think they might've even tweaked the encounter rates to be a bit more fair as well.

I'm quickly remembering how big of a money pit the Saturn is. I traded $30 worth of games I got with it (that I don't want) for an action replay, then I had to dump money for the 3D controller and then I looked up all the US games I'm going to want (I kept my imports from last time) and just kind of wept quietly. At least I traded the other games I got with it (4 total) for $150 worth of games (mainly psp and ps2). I honestly just wish it had come with some stuff I was interested in but I guess when you get the console for $5 and some semi-valuable (in terms of Saturn games) games for $1 each complete in VG-EX condition you can't complain too much...

It's also going to cost me about $100 to whore out all my sega consoles for this video scaler. It's also going to take physical work, for instance for the Saturn I have to get a European cord and solder it with a US cord. Apparently it's the tits though so I'm going for it, and I'm going for a custom Dreamcast VGA box.

Yeah, it works great. I play all my Genesis games through it using composite. Which gives a much better picture than playing than through composite on just the Genesis. I really just need to start getting Scart cables for all the retro consoles that I can though. PSIV through RGB->Component on my 32" CRT.

You have a soldering iron now. A replacement battery for it should cost pennies. There's just no excuse.

Sweet. How good is your tv? There are some REALLY good CRT tvs out there.

It's not bad. It's an older flat screen Toshiba. got it for $50 on CL about 3 years back. It's no Sony PVM, but the NeoGeo MVS looks boss through component hookups.

My moneysinks are of a lower range than yours, Gypsy.

I have a couple really good Sony ones. My dream is to find one of these: http://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=43256

Also, I got Phantasy Star Portable 2 today in case you don't check the purchase thread. It made me so happy.

Not even comparable, plus you don't have an excuse. You should have just got a working DS for $25-40. JFC Nem.

The main issue with that TV of course is finding it locally. I'd happily pay $200-250 for it but E-bay is a bit more but more importantly I get nervous with stuff like that being shipped because other people are usually horrible at packing. Plus shipping would seriously be around $100.
