Default DIOS MIOS, discs and cheats

Alrighty. So I currently have a Wii running DIOS MIOS lite to play my gamecube backups, and I use WiiFlow as a front end. From what dabbling I've done with the wiiflow interface, it seems like theres an option to enable cheats for GC games on your SD card. Trouble is, the one I have is nearly full ;/

So what it boils down to is, I'd like to know if its at all possible to set up cheats, using what I have described above, for actual GC discs (rather than having to rip said disc first)
"I think that the problem with this video is it is highly derivative of many popular bands within the genre. Although when viewed on its own merits, it does have a deeper groove. However what it has in groove, it lacks in originality. One can't help but be reminded of such bands as Pearl Jam, White Zombie, Suicidal Tendencies and other bands that bear the mantle of so called "Alternative Rock". One is even reminded of Lorie Anderson when she wore curlers. Hehehmhm! This video speaks less to the heart and more to the sphincter. In closing, I think Korn would do well to learn more from -"

No, cheats won't work from disc with DM(L), unless you use Neogamma with a patched MIOS v5 or the action replay

Any chance you could elaborate? I'm familiar enough with flashing consoles for emulation/etc purposes, just haven't put nearly the focus on the wii vs others.

    Use USB instead

but cheats can be done via disc with an action replay (you can get a hacked version that will run from SD via a channel forwarder)

I seem to remember a neo-gamma method as well but don't remember exactly how that went

running GC games from USB using DIOS MIOS and cheats works just fine though
