I'm not gifted. I'm actually really average. I just learned quicker than my classmates because I used the language a lot more. They'd study for two hours a week and then forget about Japanese. I'd study for two hours a week and then play hour after hour of Japanese games, watch Japanese TV, listen to Japanese music... The odd autistic savant with godly language learning abilities aside, that's all that language learning is. The people who use the language the most win.
