Kind of...
When the Dreamcast was a short-lived thing, Mad Catz made controllers for them that would inevitably destroy the console itself. We didn't realize this until about 5 consoles deep into replacements. Had Dreamcast door-stoppers and paperweights as a joke for years.

never broken a controller, but i have broken a window by throwing the Wii nunchuck at it.

There is an X-box 360 controller at my house known as "The Rage Controller". It was smashed against the floor in my room so hard the battery pack (AA not recharge) broke into 4 pieces including a spring that fell out. I super glued it back together but it still has contact issues and if you bump it wrong it turns off.

I haven't ever broken a controller in rage, but for some reason I've been exceedingly rough with my launch 360 controller (mostly used on PC). I've had to replace the thumbstick twice, both times it was worn down completely.
