I didn't really give the book I had a chance but I caught one of the films last night. Pretty heavy shit.

This is my coming out of the closet, but please keep it on here only.

What's your take on the series?

loved the books, need to watch the movies someday lol. i watched the first one a long time ago, but i remember very little

I saw the first movie, it was bad, really bad. I more or less know what happens in the others due to online reviews and such. It's some pretty faceplam-inducing shit. It baffles me that it has fans at all.

It has always been taught to me that reading a book is better than seeing the movie of it, but as I ditched the book, I resorted to watching it on-screen as a quick digest when it was on. My expectations were low to begin with, the franchise always appeared as another fad to me. I heard about the majority of the storyline prior, although given that I don't question the logic of movies so much as I used to and all the cliché elements were present (action, love conflict, monsters, etc.), I was pleasantly surprised. One time, I was having a drink with a few others and they were saying, "vampires don't sparkle!" and I remained quiet like, "...it's just a movie." I guess I'm easy to please to some extent. I still recognise a garbage flick when I see it but this one in particular ranked above average for me.

Looking at it from my relaxed perspective, I think Gare would say:

Taylor Lautner's pecs ======= wwwwwooooooooooooooooooooooooottttt!

I enjoyed watching this here video far more than I enjoyed watching the first flick.



Although that's not saying much. Watching paint dry could be more entertaining than watching Twilight was....

I have to say there was at least one good thing to come of Twilight: Michael Sheen and his lackeys.

And those videos only serve to further my point about Twilight; Ragnar used the word "enjoyed", Gare said it was "beautiful".

In summary, Twilight is the shit.

I actually had a lot of fun watching the first movie with my little brother because of the copious amounts of so bad it's good. We then tried to do the same with the second one... and that one was just so bad it was bad. :'D Kind of called it quits after that.
