I don't have PS3/X360, so I never played Sonic 06 and I know about its bad reputation, but some tracks of its OST are great.

It's horrible. Someone who shall not be named on this forum loves it. *Shudder.*

Anyway, time to get GameFly. Yay me.

    This is a good thing.

You have a slim, or a fat one?

I've never actually replaced a laser on a slim PS2, just done PS2 fat repairs. Why would you need a soldering iron?

EDIT: Nevermind, I assume it's to remove the anti-static solder point on the laser's ribbon cable. Funny thing is the lasers that I end up ordering never seem to have that in place

I really need to get myself a small soldering iron and learn how to use it properly. Would be nice to mod/repair my own stuff instead of paying other people to do it.

correct, at least that's what I assume the blob on it is.
Damn it Mom, whenever you clean an area where something we need is, you misplace it and now it's impossible to find.

It really cheap to get all the required tools. Plus it's not all that hard to learn. Start on something somewhat simple and work your way up. I think there's some soldering learning kits I remember seeing in my MCM Electronics catalog. Might be useful for a beginner. I would personally love to start getting into surface mount soldering. The proper tools can be pretty spendy though.

Yeah, my dad said he'd help me find a decent soldering iron this week and show me the basics. There is actually one kicking around somewhere but it's a massive one so not much use for tiny little circuit boards. Weird thing is though I remember using one unsupervised in DT/shop class when I was maybe nine or ten.

Got GameFly, getting the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection first. Can't wait to play it.

And I'm downloading Bioshock for PC.
