    Default PCSx2 issues

I'm having trouble with the frame rates on the bouncer on my PCSx2 emu. I've enabled speedhacks but nothing seems to work, I'm also getting this high pitched noise during the cut-scenes as well as game play when I press any button. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm using v. 1.0.0.

What to post when asking for help.

We need to know what game you are playing, your system specs, and what non-default settings you have enabled.

Also, it might be best to set everything to default after you tell us what game you are playing and your specs, that way we can start with a clean slate.

The game is listed as playable and your specs are decent, first off try going into config > audio and tick disable effects processing. It does sound like an audio issue and you'd be surprised how much these things can affect emulation. Also you could try disabling sound as a test for fps and then fiddle with the audio settings.

What graphics card (GPU) do you have?

Also, you are using a laptop, right? Try setting your power plan to "high performance".

Well, your GPU is pretty weak, but your processor is pretty much optimal for PCSX2.
Try going to Config --> Video (GS) --> Plugin Settings... and under Original PS2 resolution, tick Native

Did you try changing your power plan?

changed the settings to native, the power plan to high performance and still got the framerate drop to around 41.

At this point, you are going to have to use non-stable speedhacks and other settings to get consistent 50+ FPS. This is not nearly as big an issue as it used to be, but if your game is glitching, these should be the first things you change.

Go to Config --> Emulation Settings ---> Speehacks
The one that is the most stable, but the least likely to give you a significant speedboost (it was originally made for computers with more than 3 cores, but it can increase the speed on dual-cores when they are emulating games that use the VU1 unit extensively), is the MTVU hack.

If that does not get you the results you want, set the EE Cyclerate to 2 (default is 1), and if you are still not satisfied, 3. If your results are still not what you are looking for, experiment with VU Cycle Stealing. I recommend not going past 1 (default is 0) and you should never go past 2 (3 will just report false FPS, and probably break your game).

Now, take these next two with a grain of salt, since these are based on what they do in-general, but they will not speedup every game and may not work well with speedhacks.
Go to Config --> Emulation Settings ---> EE/IOP and VUs (2 different sections, but you are going to do the same thing in both) and set the Clamping Mode to None.

Remember, your graphics card is not optimal, so there may be some less-optimized games that you will just simply not be able to achieve constant 50+ FPS.
