Default Kingdom Hearts BBS Final Mix won't see my game save data from original game

So I got a KH BBS FM english-patched iso from a link a member here kindly posted. it seems to work perfectly but, when I start a new game it asks me if i want to load KH BBS game data (for prizes & trophies?) , but then it cannot find any on the memory stick.

I have finished the original game with all 3 characters, incl. the Final Episode, and was hoping I'd be able to just continue with existing game saves so i can grind a bit more in the arena and fight additional bosses in the Final Mix. Is this the case?

    Any clues?

Unless you finished the original Japanese version, no. You can't import saves from the original English version to the remade Japanese version, or vice versa.
Kinda surprised you didn't assume as much already, since the remake was never released outside of Japan*.

Also... why did you post your question here? The original thread or the section devoted to this type of question would have made more sense, don't you think?

    EDIT:
*Why would they put functionality that encouraged something that isn't officially supported?

Thanks for the info, I'm new to all this and these forums so I didn't know where to post exactly.
Didn't know Sony were so assy about exclusive Jap releases. Glad I don't have to pay for games.
