God! What's with those people in the crane?
That is really toying with life... I will never understand people who do things of the like.
(of course, in the end, it is just their problem... but still, I could not help but shiver. )

The sting on the other hand is more painful/annoying. They inject venom that makes the area rather sensitive and it turns into a weird pustule, the best part is that they love to bite and/or sting in the same exact spot until you force them off their mortal coil. I guess theirs always the chance of an allergic reaction as with any venom, but really they're just a nuisance.
Ouch, that sounds terrible... at least here ants are more friendly.

(yeah, I googled "fire ants" and there were some pics. Look like nasty stings...)

    Still, could be worse:

    Spoiler warning:

Obviously the Mozarts and Picassos of our world are born with natural gifts that not many of us have, but there's a big difference between not having the potential to be a genius and not having the potential to be good, and I sincerely believe that any healthy, capable human being can reach a fairly high level at most anything with time and effort. I never exhibited any particular talent for music or languages as a child, yet I now speak semi-fluent Japanese and play concert level piano pieces despite starting both things as an adult. Not because I have some fabulous natural talent, but simply because I really wanted to learn and put a lot of time into it.

Of course sometimes people just feel that the rewards of getting good at something aren't worth the effort required, and that's okay. But it's really sad to see people convinced that they can't do stuff, and jumping ship on things they really love because they don't have any prodigious natural gift for it. If you want to be good at something, are physically capable and are willing to put in the work, there's really no reason that you can't be.
Tempted to make an Unlimited Blade Works reference here, but I'm not sure if you've read it.

Not creative writing. Just the sort of stuff I post on TGV, and you've seen those.

Actually, I used to do creative writing and was pretty good at it (again, based on feedback), but it was in Hungarian, so there's no point in mailing you that.

I haven't. Sorry. Does it deal with the whole talent versus effort thing?

    Shouldn't be running off road
But Seriously, I'm glad it will be fall when I go.
At least then I know ants are underground, not trying to defend their territory, biting and gnawing at fools who dare run past their ant hill.

Actually, that's a lie, I once had a creative writing class in English, so there's at least one piece I can send you if you're really interested. I don't remember the grade I got for it, though, so I'm not sure if it's good or not.

Sort of, but I'll not spoil it in case you decide to read it one day.
