Unhappy Spider-man [NTSC-U] for PSX dilemma

Ok for starters, I love the Spider-man series especially every game that was made with the web-slinger in it. I had the Spider-man 2, the PSX game since I was a kid, and I totally loved it! I didn't get to play the first game in my childhood so I decided to download the ROM here at EP and burn the game into a CD-R. Just to make things clear and precise, it's not CD-RW, DVD-R, DVD-RW, but CD-R.

And here's the catch, after I've burned the game, jammed it in my PSX console (modded btw), and started to run it. After the Playstation logo disappears, the screen goes all screwy. Like when you tried to play a PAL game on an NTSC-U compatible system, where the screen just go all black and white and the images are like going up and down.

I was wondering if that ROM was originally a PAL game which was labeled accidentally as NTSC-U. Cuz I'm quite sure that it was a PAL copy since I tried to run my PAL copy of Martian Gothic on my system, it has the same outcome.

Can anyone hear me out? Cuz I really wanted to finish the franchise that started my enthusiasm of playing PSX games. Thanks in advance dudes and dudets! Rock on!
