I'm a Sierra nut and been playing point and click since the Kings Quest days when I was a kid. Love the quest for glory series and have played a few decent remade games as well like QFG2 and such. Then of course there's the greatness that is Leisure suit Larry. I still remember trying to get past the questions for the first game when I was like 10 or something.
Really liked the early Lucasarts stuff too like Maniac Mansion and Zak Mccracken or back then I guess it was Lucasfilm? I haven't really played any more modern point and click adventures though.
Ghost Trick and Phoenix Wright are the only real adventure games that I've gotten into.
I like Sam & Max, Broken Sword and Quest for Glory...
HP: 454 / 1816
Thanks guys I've wanted to try a few point and click games and I'm all set with what's been said
Anybody play any of the new Telltale Games versions of Sam and Max and Tales of Monkey Island? They also made a Back tot he Future and Walking Dead game and stuff...
"I think that the problem with this video is it is highly derivative of many popular bands within the genre. Although when viewed on its own merits, it does have a deeper groove. However what it has in groove, it lacks in originality. One can't help but be reminded of such bands as Pearl Jam, White Zombie, Suicidal Tendencies and other bands that bear the mantle of so called "Alternative Rock". One is even reminded of Lorie Anderson when she wore curlers. Hehehmhm! This video speaks less to the heart and more to the sphincter. In closing, I think Korn would do well to learn more from -"
Deja Vu for sure! I loved the NES version, but if you ever get a chance to play the original Mac version which is actually in black and white, you absolutely must do so. It feels even more like a noir title, and frankly looks fantastic.
My personal favorites, most of which have been mentioned:
Full Throttle
Space Quest 5
Leisure Suit Larry 6 (The one with the swanky health spa, lol)
Quest for Glory 3
Maniac Mansion
Secret of Monkey Island 2
Rise of the Dragon
Snatcher (yea, may be stretching the p&c a bit)
Gabriel Knight Sins of the Fathers
Police Quest 4 Open Season
and shockingly someone beat me to Zak McCrakken (good call man)
I loved all the space quests. I used to play the hell out of those as a kid.
Left 4 Dead on the PC is pretty awesome. You point at their heads and click. <3
Be afraid. Be very afraid.
I'm actually playing an old school one right now called "Normality"
http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/normality/
Is that game any good?? I remember having a demo of it on a sampler disc a long long time ago (remember back when magazines came with demo discs?). I thought it was kinda neat at the time but never saw it in stores so I didn't have a chance to purchase it.
Other games I remembered:
Beneath a Steel Sky
Blade Runner (the one by Westwood Studios)
The early Tex Murphy games (Martian Memorandum, etc)
The Dig
and a guilty pleasure.... Harvester. Not a great game by an means, but boy was it twisted and gory as hell.
