I could recommend a 3DS (larger version, when it comes out) but I don't know if you have a 3DS already. Besides, you might prefer something else for all I know. And that is a nice chunk of cash...

Big N is 'updating' the 3DS already?? I have not heard this, though I should have figured, given their track record. '3DS XL', I wonder? Loving the idea of this..

I havent made the leap to 3DS as of yet, seems a bit gimmicky, and we are 1000% satisfied with out Lites and regular DS'.
(Well, my wife is satisfied...I myself really need to grab one of those XLs....they look SO neat, and would help a lot with my baseball mitt-sized hands...)

Are there pictures/write-ups somewhere that I can see? ('NEW' 3DS....)

I made the leap a little early and thus paid $220 for it (it came with a $40 list-priced 15 piece accessory set). The price drop happened not too long after, which aggravated me, but I got 20 'free' games for my trouble, plus other free games (3D ExciteBike and LoZ:Four Swords). On one hand, the system has some good games, on the other too many of them use the 3D feature like 3D Movies do. I gauge how many games I want are out/listed for the system, which is why I don't have the PSPVita yet. Also, while my DS classic still works fine, I can't play GBA games on my 3DS without downloading them which makes playing games that have GBA-slot features difficult. So really, take a look at the lineup and ask if you want that game. I get a system if my list contains at a minimum of 10 system-exclusive games.

Also, if they're puling the same stunt as they did with the DS, you may as well wait for your preferred games to get price dropped. By that point, there should be at least another new model.

You have mitt-hands, I had trouble manipulating the original Xbox controllers.
