Thumbs up ATI Radeon 9700...your guy's input

When I said "your guy's" I meant all of you in general, lol, i know there are chicks out there using the forum.

ANYWAY. i've heard a lot of great things about this upcoming card and I just wanted to see what ya'll people thought about it.

For those who havent heard much, here's what i know:

    - 2x the number Pixel pipes than any other card (8, instead of 4)
    - The thoroughput of the pixel fill, antialiased fill, and texture is a great deal more than any otha card
    - memory bit-width at 256
    - i think full support for direct x8? or 9 was it?
    - blah blah blah, i can go on and on...

Anyways I am for sure getting the card, It's going into the new putter i'm going to build, I just hope I can hold on to this cash I made during the summer and not buy that prs 1,200 dollar electric guitar I also want *must keep mind off guitar* . the 9700 card is supposed to work along side directx 9.1.

I am quite impressed with the card thus far with the exception of its 16-bit color problem in older games. The new GPU has got me in a trance (well, not quite and the basically upgraded vertex shaders and Smooth Vision tech will once again put ATI on top at least for a few months. I will definitely get the card and if the same thing happens that usually occurs with ATI's cards, we will see a massive price drop after its release or possibly before it. The 8500 and 9000 cards are around $100 so I can't see the 9700 staying above $250 for long, especially if they want to compete with the GF4Ti4600. Good luck ATI. This holiday season will be huge for the vid card market!

I know what you mean. But, because that card is fairly new, you could sell it for a decent price and use that cash to pay for part of the 9700.
