how to upgrade and downgrade your computer at the same time

hello evrybody i'm new

i've come cos i love playing nintendo 64 emu - but heres the story

6 months ago my boyfriend gives me his old computer - it has celeron850 - riva tnt/tnt2 pro - 128ram - 20 gig hd. i discover corn n64 emu and love playimg mario 64 on it cos it plays full speed it all works perfick, except mario's stars are half black

last week my father gives me geforce 2 mx 400 for my birthday and my computer shop man puts it into my pc. when i play mario on corn, the stars are all yellow and i'm so glad!! but then i find... oh no, lots of things have turned white the big eel in jolly roger bay, the water in metal cap stage, the flowing sand in shifting sand land... all gone white

Well, what you CAN do is, get the latest detonator drivers for the GeForce2 MX from www.nvidia.com and install them.
After that, make sure you select the High End Video Card Option in Corn options, and you should be on your way to perfect mario64

hello again and thank u for your help MasJ - but i tried that already and it didn't make aNy diffrence

mebbe i should try it again cos mebbe the newer drivers would work better. how new are they? (ands is there directX 9 now? gosh its hard to keep up ) i have directX8.1 i think

oh i try project64 now and graphics are lovely but speed is slow on my olds celeron - now i must get dad to buy me pentium

Well, Elf, you see, I myself have a GeForce3 and I happen to know that corn should work perfectly on GeForce2 MX, so it's some misconfiguration, so if you get the latest Detonator Drivers, things should work fine.
The drivers were released 3 days back, so they're brand new, grab them from the nVidia site, we'll try and help you as much as we can with your problem.

Also, DirectX9 isn't out yet , it will be this December, but the new Detonator drivers are compatible with it. However, don't confuse yourself with that mumbo jumbo, just get the drivers off the nVidia site and then try Corn. Also, a Celeron 850 should be perfect to play Mario64 at full speed with a GeForce2.

thanks MasJ I'm going to go get those drivers and try them out - it would be lovely to get corn working again - i hope my new video card works properly (i try 1964 and the openGL plugin has holes in the graphics and i thought geforce2 would do nice openGL even with celeron )

you can downgrade your computer.... by getting a hammer and slamming your mother board a couple of times, then getting a bottle of soda, then soak your ram chips in there.......
