Default Is there a way to get JPCSP to play PSP games i own?

I'm new here in the sense i finally registered (after being a long time guest) and I've googled this question to death in so many forms and i hope somebody here can help. I'm aware that JPCSP can play PSP games in ISO and all that good stuff but is there a way to get it to play games i've downloaded from PSN that are stored away in my MediaGo? Like for example i'd like to be able to play 3rd birthday for video recording walk through for my youtube channel but i don't want the low quality that comes with using CFW. Is there a way to convert or play the actual eboot file through JPCSP?

If this can't be done, is there a way to play the PSOne classic games I've downloaded from PSN on JPCSP or ePSXe?

There is one application that can convert PSN Eboots into ISO, however the chances it will work after conversion is pretty slim, especially if you try to run it on JPCSP.
The application is called EBOOT2ISO(google for it), and you won't get an ISO file after converting it, but instead a folder with set of files that need to be compiled using UMDGen, then finally it will be saved as an ISO.

PSX games can't be run on JPCSP, as it whole purpose is to load PSP backups, so you need to use ePSXe for that.
I'm not sure what format does PS1 Classic from PSN comes with, but if its in Eboots, try using the above method and hope it will work.

PSOne classics are Eboots as well. I'm currently converting files atm. I'll edit this post with a update to let you know how it turns out.

So if the PSOne classics from PSN are eboots, so it should work for JPCSP? (in theory)
Having to make backup then convert cause MediaGo keeps them stored as random letters & numbers.

Update 1: Jpcsp wont run games that are encrypted that can only be decrypted by the actual PSP. So far that leaves out all the PSP/PS3 Minis games out. I was able to convert Monopoly from eboot to CSO. Took me two trys but i got a nice perfect CSO. Posting a screenshot to show ya the error i got + showing i own the game but reason i wanted to learn how to run the games i own on JPCSP was to make walk through videos (of course not monopoly but used it as a test convert and see if it would work on Minis)

Next i'll try 3rd Birthday for the PSP (and its not a minis)

UPDATE 2: Same as Update 1 with 3rd birthday. >< As for my last update since i have a few PSOne Classics downloaded from PSN, i'll try Castlevania SoTn. I lol at the idea because its a PSX Game but in eboot for the PSP. I bet i'll get the same result but we'll see. Maybe the PSOne Classics are just different.

LAST UPDATE: Castlevania as a CSO gets the same msg as Update 1. Now basicly all i have is back up of games should Media Go Crash and lose all my data LOL! However it was fun small task to do and thanks Meganova for giving me the closest answer to my burning question. I guess i'll just have to wait till Emu eventually gets far enough to be able to decrypt like the original system its self (probly need a PSP Bios to do it?). If anybody comes across a work around to the problem i'm having then please let me know! Just again i dont do the recordings with the CFW due to poor recording quality (like for example i play Castlevania for the PSX, the actual CD on ePSXe for quality, if you youtube search my name as shown on this forum, you'll see what i mean)

Try running your converted games on the more recent SVN build of the emulator, which should be able to decrypt some of the encrypted files as you load the game.

Followed the link, downloaded the latest version 2500. This time 3rd Birthday music plays from the image but i get the encryption error. As shown in the screen shot below. I'll try Monopoly & Castlevania again to see if its related just to the game. I'll update this post with the new details on other two tests.

UPDATE 1: Castlevania I got a error that said [Critical Error : Check console for details] and i can't make out what the error is so to trouble shoot it, i redid the CSO file twice in two versions. One with UMD_DATA.BIN and the other without and both lead to the same error. Put the log in spoiler. Below is the screenshot of the error.

Will try Monopoly next. If i get the same error on monopoly as i did with castlevania, i'll see if a pc reset fixes the problem (if its java) and see if there is a java update (but got the lastest version already but i'll check anyway). Also while getting the error, i tried 3rd Birthday again and i still got the same encryption problem. So i highly doubt its a java problem and probly just something related to the emu but in the older version did not get that problem so most likely a emu problem with the current version. If you know of a solid working build (older version) then i'll test it on that too.

LAST UPDATE: Monopoly got the same error as 3rd Birthday due to encryption. Maybe i'm doing something wrong in the CSO process? I give the volume a name and the Volume set (as shown in the eboot file) but i leave the rest blank like the master disc info and publisher and date preparer. As for the files, i put them into the CSO as the converter extracted them.

If anymore ideas come to mind or another work around, let me know and thanks again in advance!

I also ripped an image of my The 3rd Birthday (US) and it runs perfectly on revision 2326. I find it strange that even the latest version gives the "encrypted" error.
Normally, all revision past r2000 or so is supposed to run even encrypted games "on-the-fly". I tried Dissidia 012, KH:Birth by Sleep and the imported version of FF Type-0 and they are all decrypted automatically in my case.
How are you dumping your isos? Maybe you should download an "untouched" iso or cso on the web and try to run it.

EDIT:Ah I see, you are currently using 3rd Birthday download from the PSN and not an actual UMD, aren't you?

Yes i'm using the digital download. What would be the difference in untouched and the eboot version? (and yes its the US version btw). As for the game files, i have the file converted to CSO for the compressed format. I take the eboot file and run it through eboot2ISO and then to UMDGen and i get my .CSO that way. Mainly trying to get the PSP Games i own to work on the Emu for recording game play due to not wanting the low recording quality of CFW.

In the end its also a learning curve, i'll learn how to make (hopefully) working back up's of my own digital downloads to play on PC so if (ever and when) PSP gets junked cause vita will rule over it (in about a few more years) i won't be having to hunt down a psp!. I actually only own ONE UMD Game, all the rest i have are digital copies of their UMD Counterpart (if some of them had a UMD at all) from PSN.

I'll look for r2326 and see how that goes. I can also record my desktop and do a video to show how the step by step process is being done, maybe the eboot2iso is giving me a file i should take out? or maybe there is a patch file i should add before making it in to a CSO? (I might just do a video response O.o if that is okay, don't want to break forum rules)

I'm actually thinking there is a patch file somewhere out there on the web but nobody willing to share it yet.

As usual, i will run the tests and post my results in this post with edits.

UPDATE Found r2326 and i still get the encryption error that only a psp can only do the decryption. So i uploaded the CSO to my psp to test if they're working. 3rd Birthday and castlevania & monopoly got the error on the psp "This game cannot be started. The data is corrupted". While the original versions still work fine. I have the CFW Pro B-10 for 6.60. I tried the UMD ISO Mode: Sony Np9660,Inferno,M33 driver and it made no difference.

Is it that a eboot file just can't be turned in to a ISO/CSO for some strange reason? Considering ISO/CSO are just different compression, one uncompressed and the other is. I just don't see a reason why this would effect the data read from the file. As i'm aware that most game images turned to ISO/CSO are done from the UMD its self and not a digital download version of the game. However i can say this; While psp gives me a option to "Update" my PSP games i've never done the actual update. Meaning that PSP does not give a force update nor tell you there is a update for that game, it gives you a choice to manually check. So I've ruled out any idea of maybe a game update effecting it taking part in the problem.

I'll take any further suggestions/advise or other chances of workarounds to my quest of wanting to record game play off the psp or able to get the JPCSP to play my back ups of the games i own.

I decided to check the CSO Properties and it says "Opens with: Windows Shell command" and on its Attributes. Archive is checked, would this make a difference and should i try to change them? Screenshot below.

The Eboots is likely the problem though, or maybe need a right LBA address or something. But try to decrypt it manually on PSP, and see what happen.

and have you try recording the video using remotejoy+hypercam, etc?
