Did you try with the config of my page http://psxdatacenter.emuparadise.me/ and if you can use opngl try to press f7 in these parts to enable the software plugin.

and with f7 is still black if the game? If is the pal version you need the sbi files or ppfs to play the game and if you use pec use the save anywhere and as always try to mount the game, when you load the state the game works and fails after the scene?

Did you tried to use a save anywhere code to save in a memory card? Did you only use one savestate or more than one?
The game is the NTSC-U version or a PAL one?

Load the game using the actual/ingame save file from memory card(not the savestates). Then go through that scene again without using savestates.

I'm sure that's the only way to fix it on ePSXe, AFAIK.

great advice guys and a little clarification for flint saving states saves the state that the emulator is in at the moment you use the save state feature so if you change the settings in the emulator then load the state the emulator will automatically revert to the settings it had at the time you made the save state that is why It is always better to play with only memory card saves or hard saves as they're called.
