Question Best Emulator Options with Backups (Based On Criteria Mentioned)

Before you flame me, please know that it's been a while since I've been experimenting with emulation.

OK everyone... I'm on a mission! I'm trying to find out what is the best emulator for every major console. My criteria is very simple, the best overall given you have an awesome computer, and a good backup in case you aren't around that computer. Arcade, NES, SNES, Turbographix 16, Genesis, N64, PSX, Sega Master System, Sega Saturn, Sega Dreamcast, and Nintendo Portable Consoles. It would help me personally to have the best ones for MSX2 as well since I'm a Castlevania nut. Anyone have data to backup a definitive list? So far I think Nestopia is the best for NES with Jnes as an excellent backup and BSNES as the top with Snes9x as a backup. Thanks all.

When deciding on a emulator to use, I look for game accuracy, compatibility and an easy to follow GUI. I suggest downloading a few emulators for the same system and playing the same game on each one, then decide what you like best.

1964 is a advanced of shoot of project 64 that is why I not mentioned it.

Also it was pcsx reloaded I mentioned it is now the best playstation emulator it has a lot more advanced emulation than EPSXE it can use plugin like epsxe but also plays translated games better than the adformentioned emulator.

you are very wrong. I have never heard of either n64 because they all suck.

Project 64 is the one that the best.

And epsxe 1.7 outrates any ps1 emulator..

Epsxe can play translated games. Just make sure they are iso's.

Look up both n64 emulators I mentioned they are both now better than project 64 and like I said before 1964 is a advanced off shoot of the project 64 emulator but also supports plugins. As for the playstation emulator pcsx reloaded is a lot better than epsxe I can name at least 20 games that emulator can not emulate fully wich pcsx reloaded can plus also it has a more user friendly interface than that of epsxe I suggest you try it is great.

That was some severe spouting of misinformation, Spose.

If others are suggesting emulators, and you disagree with their choices, it doesn't mean they are wrong either.

In truth, Mupen64 and 1964 are great emulators. And ePSXe can run more formats than ISO, just fyi. ePSXe might be "best" depending on what someone wants from an emulator. There are a lot of "best" Playstation emulators.
