Default Metal Gear Solid Doesn't Load

I feel kind of ignorant for asking this, but does anyone know how to get MGS running? I've never touched it, and decided to get a copy, but when I run it, the game's just a grey screen and nothing happens.
I'd normally try to work on it on my own, but I'm way too tired.

I'm using Pcsx-r, by the way, don't have an alternative ISO, though I could try, and the only other emulator I have has never, and I doubt will ever work.
    Silly Windows 7.

Why don't you try another emulator first? such as ePSXe. It should be working without problem.

Just a thought.....have you ever tried using Dolphin on your rig? Maybe you could try MGS: The Twin Snakes (Gamecube)

Deadlegion hit it right on the money, ePSXe hates me. Probably just my rig, though.
I assume you're referring to a gamecube emulator?
Not a bad idea, actually. Is there any difference between the playstation version and The Twin Snakes?

Might be worth trying, check your specs.

Yeah, The Twin Snakes is a remake.
Improved graphics, improved enemy AI, new cut scenes, it's got a first person view.

If epsxe doesn't`work for you you can try ssspsx v0.34 the use is similar to epsxe except when you use pec you can see a tutorial for the emulator in my page http://psxdatacenter.emuparadise.me i think the gamecube one need a very powerful computer to run at full speed.

    A remake, eh?
I really should be more up to date, then. I'll go ahead and give Dolphin a shot, but if it kills my rig, I'll try to find another emulator.
(I love remakes. Personally, I usually prefer them to the original.)
