Chatting With Cleverbot 2.0

I made a thread about this a couple of years ago. Back then Cleverbot was 39% human and now it's 59% human. Which deserves a thread because it's quite an accomplishment for it's creator to achieve that level of artificial intelligence and make people wonder if there is actually a real person pulling your leg and chatting with you. I didn't want to perform thread necromancy and bump the old thread. Try the new and improved Cleverbot and post the results here.

Are you sure this isn't some prankster pulling your leg, pretending to be a robot. if it is a robot, well that's just wrong.This brings up so many questions. Who would go to the movies with a robot? Is this a programmers idea of a joke? How does a computer/robot fall in love? I'm a bit confused, but that's nothing new.Wow

It has a warning on the site telling you that cleverbot learns from the people that chat with it so some of it's conversations may be inappropriate so I can only surmise that someone spoke to the bot that way and it picked up those patterns.

but I definitely agree it is strange and creepy to be hit on by a bot.

As a matter of fact, you are, after a fashion. Cleverbot simply compiles and identifies most common and syntactically-meaningful responses to queries and statements posed to it by previous users, as you likely already know. In essence, you are effectively speaking to the zeitgeist of the Internet, combined with certain basic seed data and fed through a heuristic filter (the specific design of which is the real feat of programming), with a certain degree of randomness in order to prevent identical inputs from returning identical outputs. You can see how it breaks down fairly quickly; there's no real proper memory to maintain syntactic continuity beyond the previous statement, and there's no sense of gradual or relevant subject transitions as would be found in conventional conversation.
