    Default no disk error message

    hi i keep getting a no disk error message when i load a rom in snes9x. it happens after i choose the rom and click open. the message reads "There Is No Disk in the Drive. Please Insert a Disk into Drive \h" "h" is my dvd/cd drive. i click on cancel twice and the error message goes away and the game loads fine, but it happens with every rom, is it suppose to do this? i use a sony vaio model = pcg 7z2l laptop. windows vista service pack 1. the snes9x program is in my (c: ) if anyone can help i'd appreciate it, thank you.

    From what I know, the message indicate that you're using an outdated version of snes9x and you also doesn't have the directx 9.
    Usually the old version of snes9x only support the old directx version such as directx 9. Since you have Windows Vista, you probably have directx 10 or 11. Therefore you might need to try the latest SVN version of snes9x.

    See if this fix the problem.

    The problem is most likely the AUC and DEP. It always is when an application has problems accessing a directory. Try right-clicking the EXE or the shortcut to it, go to Properties and check the Run as administrator option. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/922708

    thanks for the advice i'll keep it in mind if it happens again. but the problem mysteriously went away on its own.
