Default ePSXe save state sound issues

Every time I load up a save state I get some heavy sound distortion or interference. I've noticed it on two games thus far (out of two played). Chrono Trigger in which it would stop as soon as I entered a battle (I assumed it was the changing of background music but considering the following I'm not sure) and Chrono Cross where it would persist after entering a battle (changing screens didn't work but I don't know about changing areas). A quick test using The Legend of Dragoon didn't get any sound issues.

    Here's my specs
    Emulator: ePSXe
Sound Plugin: P.E.Op.S. DSound Audio Driver 1.9
    BIOS: bios\SCPH1001.BIN
    Graphics: P.E.Op.S. Soft Graphics 1.8

    Comp Specs:
    Windows 7 Professional 64 bit
    6gb of RAM
    Intel Core Duo 2.5GHz
    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M
    Realtex High Definition Audio
(I can post the dxdiag file if that's not enough)

there is no problem with the emulator its just the way save states work, it saves the state of the emulator at that exact moment in time, so if music was playing it will continue to play but will sound as you desciribed, save states arent 100% perfect which is why its recommended that you do normal saves as saves states corrupted easily
    *Computer Specs*
    Operating System: Windows 10 64-bit
Processor: AMD FX 8350 Processor (8 CPUs), ~4.1GHz
    Memory: 16GB RAM
    Graphics Card: AMD Radeon R9 8GB GDDR5
