Have you tried deleting your Firefox profile? Save your bookmarks first and then delete C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla
If you're on XP, and I sincerely hope you're not, it's under C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Mozilla

As with your problem, I have no idea about macs, but uninstalling and installing might help if it happens for all sites (Something is wrong with firefox). If it just happens for one website, try holding shift then pressing F5 (Refresh). It does a fresh refresh which might solve your problem.
