    Default EPSXE emulation issues

I have been using epsxe 1.7.0 to play some of my old favorites, in particular Breath of Fire III. I've never had any issues with the emulation for BoF III, but recently I tried a few other games and none of them are working. I've tried using different plugins, but none of them seem to work. Instead of loading the ISO when I start the emulator, it just goes to a black screen, sometimes with the little PSOne controller in the upper right. The games I haven't been able to load are:

    Final Fantasy Tactics
    Final Fantasy VII
    Suikoden

    BIOS: InsydeH20 Version 1.70
    Processor: AMD Turion(tm) II P540 Dual-Core Processor (2 CPUs), ~2.4GHz
    DirectX Version: DirectX 11

My question is: does anyone know what (if anything) I can do to make epsxe be able to run these ISOs? I've tried tweaking the setting and plugins within the emulator, but nothing I've done has worked so far.

First: There is an edit button to the right of your post, use it if you want to add more information.

Second: What are the file type(s) of the disc images? And where did you download them? A possible quick fix is that you are trying to run a .ecm file and you need to unECM them with ECMTools

I used the "run iso" command in epsxe. The file types are either .bin or .cue. No .ecm files. I got the isos from emuparadise.

what region are the games you are trying to play ntsc-U ntsc-J pal-E?
some pal games final fantasy VII being an example are copy protected

for the ones that have copy protection i.e. final fantasy VII (PAL-E) look here
    http://www.epforums.org/showthread.p...atches-Archive

just download the patch for the relevant game and extract directly to the epsxe patches folder and it should run.

I've always used the ntsc-U game files. Thanks for the link, I'll try it out.

I've had a similar problem, and it turns out that I just have to wait a little longer.
The black screen lasts a couple of minutes, then I see a controller and then a minute later the game loads.

I think it may just be the newer ePSX. I haven't really played around with other versions.

So try waiting a couple of minutes and see if the game loads.
