So i downloaded the Ds kernal files to stick in my new card.
    File i got are

    Inside this folder IS....

    moonmemo (folder) containing readmes
    moonshl2 (folder)
    R4Imenu (folder)
    _DS_MENU.DAT

The last R4i cart I used only needed R4iMenu and R4 Dat. I used Moonshell for playing DS videos.

Just make a separate games folder to keep everything tidy, it's a mess if they're all dumped in the root.

    Edit:

It tells you here how to set it up.

This card is slightly different to mine, it looks like you need the _DS_MENU.DAT in the root as well.

Videos need to be dpg format. There are various videos posted on different forums, or you can convert avi files yourself. Have a look at gbatemp, you'll probably find more info there.
