    Default Final Fantasy IX slow battle screen transitions

    Hello,

    I'm playing Final Fantasy IX on ePSXe 1.70 using Pete's DX6 D3D Driver 1.77. Game runs fast without glitches but when random (or fixed...) encounter occurs it takes literally 30 seconds to start the battle. That 'star/cross' animation runs literally with 1 or 2 frames per second. Is there any way to speed up this?

    My plugin settings (no special game fixes):

    Running on E8400 @3GHz and Radeon 4870

    On OpenGL Driver 1.76 battle screen pop up at normal speed but there are visible slowdowns when casting spells, etc.

    A few changes...

    vRam = 128

    Special Fixes = 0x0200

    Extra stuff to try

    Frame Buffer Textures = 1

    High Res Textures = 0 (stretching is horrible anyway unless it's filtered that you have, even then it looks wrong unless you have the correct res setup e.g. 640x480/960x720/1280x960 are all multiples of 320x240 that is the true res of the olde PSX so you will get no distortion and keep a true aspect)

    Enabling Special Fix 0x0200 eliminated slow transitions problem. Thanks.
