    Default Best PSP 1000 CFW

I've been away from the CFW scene for a pretty long time (Years).

Currently running latest M33, Got Lunar for a gift and went to play it but apparently M33 can't play the latest UMDs. I read I could convert to ISO/CSO and play it that way on M33, but I'm thinking it may be a good time to finally update out of M33 and onto something that will give me better UMD support since I usually buy my games and use CFW for emulation, and other plugins.

Looking to find what's the best choice of CFW for me,

    Using PSP-1000

    Thanks,
    Hobson

So do people recommend the PRO CFW or the ME CFW?

By the way when it says permanent is it still possible for me to go back to 5.00 m33 if I don't like it through the pandora battery etc trick? I don't remember m33 ever warning me it's permanent so I'm not sure what the meaning is, I'm hoping it's not once you update to this CFW you are stuck with it for life meaning.

"Permanent" simply means that it does not boot back to OFW after you turn it off. 5.XX M33 was permanent, IIRC.
Yes, you should be able to.

They are both fine. PRO is easier to install, however.

M33 is permanent, and of course, you can still go back to your old CFW without using pandora battery, etc.

Those tuts specifically mention going from OFW to Pro and from older versions of Pro to latest version. Can the installation be run directly from 5.00 m33-6? Been meaning to upgrade mine for a while now too.

    Edit:
Oh wait, I have to first update to OFW 6.60 for it to work?

Not really, that depends on which version of CFW that you want to use, for example, if you want to use 6.39 PRO, first update to 6.39 OFW, then install the CFW using the 6.39 installer.

No you can update to 6.60 ME-1.6 from 5.00 M33-6 I will send you a step by step tutorial.

Also ME and PRO are both perm CFW for the fully hackable PSP but if you have semi hackable 2000,3000, and Gos then I recommend 6.20 PRO-B10 it has a perm patch for the semi hackables. I recommend 6.60 ME-1.6 for all fully hackable PSP's.

I still use 5.50 Prome-4 that loads up newer firmware games that use 6.XX firmware

If I remember correctly thats 5.50 Gen D R3/R4 firmware patched with Prometheus V4

It's much the same as the olde M33 firmwares just it can also boot up 6.XX firmware games

Last game I played was FIFA 12 that shouldn't work on 5.50

I'm on a PSP2000 myself but the 1000 models work just the same

I use 5.50 Prome-4 on my PSP 1000, and never ran into issues. Personally I find it to be the easiest CFW to install and use.

Considering the Vita's coming out in a few months, I doubt we'll run into any new issues with compatibility with games.

Updated to 6.60 ME 1.6 from m33 on my PSP1000 with no problem. But I also don't notice any difference between them.

Can CFW psps access PSN and the Store? Looks like it has the option, but I don't wanna risk having my PSN account banned or anything.

I wouldn't risk accessing PSN through CFW, especially ME, since there has been reports that some of the users has been banned when trying to log into PSN(after 6.60 has been released).

But, you can always dualboot from CFW to OFW by holding the Select button when starting your PSP, and access your account from there.
