Questions about Quake on DOSBox 0.74

I'm having problems to get the music to run Quake. I downloaded Quake from here and I used this post to download the music files in .ogg format and put them in the appropriate folders rather than burning it to a CD. When I run the game, it doesn't work. Should I burn the files to a DVD±RW (I don't have any CD±RW atm) and what command do I use to mount the disc? Also I finally figured out how to use IPX tunneling on DOSBox. Is there a place that lists servers that I can connect too?

You are beter using a Quake port rather than DosBox

WinQuake and GlQuake are official ports but there will be others

I recommend to use Tenebrae as it makes the game a bit more atmospheric and improves the graphics quite a lot.

I try not to use any ports if possible as I want to keep the gaming experience as authentic as possible. Also since Quake (or KQP) hasn't given me problems running or graphical errors, I really don't see the need for something like Darkplaces. Although I haven't found a DOSBox server listing yet, is there one out there?

Servers I wouldn't know but if the DosBox virtual CD drive is not supporting ogg format you can change the ogg's into mp3's or wav's and try mounting the virtual drive again

If it's still not working then convert the image to bin+cue ISObuster can do that or you can use an external virtual drive like Daemon Tools Lite to mount what you have, though I'm sure you need to convert the ogg files for that aswell, preferably wav's

I don't remember off hand it's in the readme doc though for DosBox

I personly don't need dos box at all I use a another virtual machine that can install any os I like:- Dos, Linux/Solaris & Windows 1 to Windows 7 (can't think of a reason to run Win7 though)
