It's still in peaces but it is already a working unit. :/
Yesterday I had Resident Evil 4 running for 7 hours to test it and make sure no overheating occurs.
And it's all good.

Don't worry m8 your not the only one who is already interested in the PS2 version.
But it's not like I couldn't make more then one.
I'm just busy with other stuff like work, so the projects are being worked on slowly.
Also any ideas and thoughts on this are welcome.

So, will the portable Xbox have an internal Hard Disk? Because if it's as big as a PSP, a DVD won't fit unless you make it a few centimetres bigger.
Well, the Xbox can run game off a Hard Disk (I never owned one, so pardon my ignorance), so I suppose you can fit in a memory card/memory stick and format it in a file format supported by the Xbox.
Reason I posted this before I finish the mod is because:
I like to get peoples input and perhaps get some good suggestive ideas.
You know to help better my mod.

For one there product is patented and another it would require entirely new redesign and parts.

If it's for a slim, then you probably can make it run games off a USB stick. You probably know it already, but I'd share a video just in case:

And I don't intend to make my XBOX into any portable whatsoever.

also as a reason you put you love portables so why not make one?
the problem with the slim ps2's usb speed is that it is usb 1.1 so to make a portable that uses external hard drives or even some larger flash cards upgrade the usb to 2.0 or 3.0 I know this is easier said than done,but the thing that's irritating me is you act like this is not possible it is very possible if nothing else you can design it like a tablet or android and run emulators off of it making it portable.
I'll wait on you to get back to me as I still have no idea what this projects goal is.

And I never said the PS2 can't be made into a portable I was talking about the original XBOX.
There is no way anyone can make that the size of the PSP.
I already made that clear only Microsoft could with totally new hardware.
And if your talking about making one with the use of emulation on some tablet.. well that's NOT the same thing now is it.
And it would never RUN full speed like the real thing.
And as for upgrading a slim PS2's USB 1.1 to 2.0 don't even bother.

Can U imagine using a slim PS2 holding all it's weight in your hands, and then to have it blow HOT air at your legs.
And yes I know more fans can be put in to aim the heat away from you but then it's no longer portable in size now is it. :/
And I never said these MODS are meant to be used like a PSP so that you can take it anywhere.
I'm making it for personal use at home or in the car.
I never find the need to even take my PSP with me anywhere I go.
I only play games at home. (Once I get my PSVITA same thing will happen to it.)
I never play games outside.
So this will work just fine for me.
(Yeah I said allot.. But I hope now it clears everything up.)

How can you use it in the car if it isn't portable? Do you intend to bring the actual console and use a cigarette lighter adapter with it? If I was attempting something like this I would just make linux based portable like the GP2X and have it be powerful enough to run XBox and Ps2 emulators. It wouldn't be perfect, but it would solve a lot of the problems you are having with the hardware.
When did I ever say I was having problems with my MOD?
I told you ALL already I AM NOT trying to make an actual portable.
I HAVE NO NEED FOR ONE. :/
My PSVITA will arrive in just 4 months. (I need no other portable..)
This is just something I been wanting to do for a long time.
And some emulated hardware of the XBOX or PS2 is not going to run as good as the real system.
(There would always be slowdowns or incompatibilities or whatever.)
