Vandal Hearts 2 is a good game but not better than FFT, so you can try it if you like this kind of games, but the gfx are worst...
The best of the game is that has more than 50 battles (and more of 30 extra battles), 6 endings and tons of weapons and armors...but I prefer the gfx of the 1st part...
You can also try if you haven't tried Legend of Kartia another great strategy game with a high replay value
