    Default Java install problems

If anybody wants to help out, I've got a really annoying problem on my hands:

My system used to be a 2 (actually 3, but the 3rd was linux) partition set-up with a lot of things installed on a drive Z: that I had, I have since removed the Z: partition and consolidated everything onto my standard C: drive. However, my install of Java is corrupted, and I can neither uninstall or reinstall the JRE because of some error that is still trying to make use of the Z: drive as well as a 1723 error that claims some DLL file couldn't run.

    Any ideas?

yup. that's the one. But the fixes I've read haven't been what's wrong with mine. And I don't know how to reinstall Windows Installer on W7, everything I can find is for XP

Try running Ccleaner, and fixing registry errors. That usually fixes annoying problems such as this for me.
