Default Help! How to get JPCSP work on my Mac?

Dear all, I really need your help guys. I just downloaded JPCSP v0.6 2289 and Dissidia 012 ISO, but I just can't get it work on my Mac.

I looked up some information on the setting and configuration, but there was nobody mentioning about how to get it work on Mac.

This is my first time using PSP Emulator and I really need your help. Please.

I downloaded the JPCSP program and I tried to set the configuration as similar as the one for windows, but when I tried to load the .ISO, it didn't load. In fact, it froze for a moment, and then nothing happened.

Yes, I've read the thread, but it's mostly about JPCSP for windows, so I kinda confused how to apply them to Mac.

I'd be very glad if you could help me. I really have no clue.

No differences between both OS, perhaps only the games compatibility.

Well, have you press the 'Run' button after you load the game? Also, which game?
Depends on the games, the emulator will stay black for a while after you Run it,
and if that happen, just wait, unless you got the iso related errors.

I tried to play Dissidia 012. It just froze for a moment and then did nothing. The .ISO browser didn't even close and when I pressed 'run' nothing happened.

Well, then I guess Dissidia 012 is not yet compatible with JPCSP, is it?

It's working at my end though.

This game is encrypted, leave it for a while after pressing RUN (which should take minutes or so) to decrypt some files.
If it's not working, use the latest build available from here.

I see. Could you please give me the details of your JPCSP configuration settings? Like for the video and such?

Maybe that's one of the problems too?

Not really, since most games can be run with the default settings, while some need some changes if there any issues with sound or graphic.
Just enable 'Use Media Engine' and 'Decode Audio files'(for this, you need SonicStage) on the Video tab.

    That's all.

So, are you able to load the game?

Thanks so much for your help.

    I'm still trying though.

It's still pretty much the same as what happened before. It didn't load so I pressed 'cancel' and tried the 'run' button. But then it immediately change to 'pause'.

    Gosh, it's frustrating.

    Do it like this,
    - Load UMD
    - choose Dissidia 012 on the Browser, then click Load
    - after that, press 'Run'

the screen will either stays black at start or you'll get errors on the logs.
If you got the first one, just wait for while(don't touch anything, leave it, go take coffee or something), and eventually, the game will load after that.(hopefully)

Also, make sure your game is the clean one, meaning it is not ripped or patched.
Try 2245 as well, which the one I currently use.

this is a quote from a different site about jpcsp the quote is a couple of years old so don't know if it applies still, though it might help.
i’ve got a mac, so this won’t work unless i’m on bootcamp
you can google bootcamp also if no one here can help try googling (jcpsp on mac) and see what it gives you.

There is a difference between ignorance and stupidity ignorant people can be taught

When the game is loaded, is the UMD Browser supposed to disappear by itself?

Because mine was not, and when I press 'run', still, nothing happened.

Yes, it should be disappear after you press the Load button.

Are you sure you have updated your JAVA?
Try running the emulator with this launcher.

    I found out the problem.

Apparently "media engine" cannot be used in mac. So I disabled it.

The game loaded and it worked to some point, when suddenly it stopped and the screen was just plain white, while the 'run' button was still running.

Ah yeah, I forgot that option only works on Windows 32-bit, the same with SonicStage, if I'm not mistaken.

Did it freeze? try pressing START or X buttons, see if there any response.
Any errors on the log window?

Seems like it also happen on other people, try using different version of the game, like J or E.
