    That is becuase you cannot post new topics in that directory. If you navigate further to one if the subforums under that, you can post.

    He meant the actual forum, not a specific thread. You can't post new threads in the base directory, as Inferno stated, but once you go into the system/company specific sections (Sony Systems, Nintendo Systems, etc), you can post new threads and not everything is locked.

    It's not uncommon to see a root directory (that has specific sub-forums) locked like that on a site.
    It's to prevent idiots from creating threads for anything and everything in the root.......which is only for authorised staff to post in I assume.

    IIRC, i could be wrong thou, but the directory forum itself is lock, but the sub forums are free to post in, hope that helps!
