This might be a stupid question, but is SNK still around? Or did they go away a long while ago? I wouldn't mind seeing them do something with the MegaMan series.

Originally yes, it was. It was founded by the original founder of SNK and once SNK collapsed, Playmore bought up the IPs and later on they were awarded the rights to the SNK brand name. And now they're SNK Playmore.
