    Thumbs up [PSP Tutorial]Custom Firmware (L)ME 6.60 v1.8 released - minor tweaks!

    [PSP Tutorial] [PSP Tutorial]Custom Firmware (L)ME 6.39 v9.7 | 6.60 v1.6 released - few updates!

    ========================================

    UPDATE(s):
    6.60 has been updated, now v1.8

    After several beta releases, finally neur0n has released his Stable version of ME Custom Firmware for the latest Official Firmware, 6.60 which was released by Sony days ago.
    This is only for fully hackable PSP, 1000 and early 2000, so for those who has 3g and above, use 6.39 LCFW instead.

    NOTE: Since this CFW is still new, not all plugins for the previous version will work, also, bugs may happen as well.

    ========================================

    PSP developer, also PRO Team dev, neur0n has released his Custom Firmware called Minimum Edition (ME) for 1000, 2000, 3000, and GO models, that uses 6.39 OFW.
    For this release, some changes and additions has been implemented for the GO model, also additional function when using ISO/CSO, like software update.

    As always, installing a CFW always has the risk of brick, AND I WON'T TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY IF THAT HAPPEN!!
    so please follow the instructions carefully, and use the right files depending on your model.

    ========================================

    So, to cut thing short, there are 2 version of ME CFW, which are :
    • Custom Firmware ME
      - ONLY for 1000/early 2000 with hackable board (01g, 02g)
      - This is a PERMANENT CFW
      - Go to (#CFWME9) section for instructions on how to install this CFW on your PSP

    • Light/Live Custom Firmware ME
      - For all models, including GO (01g ,02g , 03g, 04g, 05g, 07g and 09g)
      - Not permanent, it will gone after you shut down your PSP, or crash
      - Go to (#L-CFWME9) section for instructions on how to install this CFW on your PSP

    NOTE : There are no differences between the two version in term of functions.

    ========================================

    • Custom Firmware 6.39 ME / 6.60 ME(#CFWME9)
      - First, install a HEN or CFW on your PSP, it can be anything, such as PRO or TN-HEN or ME
      - Extract the downloaded file, and put the UPDATE folder into PSP/GAME
      - Download the official firmware for :
      - 6.39(if you're using 6.39) , rename it to 639.PBP, and put it into the UPDATE folder
      - 6.60(if you're using 6.60) , rename it to 660.PBP, and put it into the UPDATE folder
      - Finally, run the installer from the PSP XMB

    • Light/Live CFW 6.39 LME / 6.60 LME(#L-CFWME9)
      - Plug-in your USB
      - Extract all files, and put both launcher and installer folder into PSP/GAME
      - Go to XMB, and run the 639 installer
      - Press the X button to install the firmware, and your PSP will reboot after that
      - Back to XMB, now launch the 639 launcher
      - You will get black screen for a while, and after that, check your PSP System Settings, it should be on 6.39 L-CFW
      - Enjoy.

    • POPSLoader Patch
      - Read the Readme.txt that included with the download for further information.
      - The installation process is basically the same with PRO version, you only need to put extra line on the pops.txt
      - However, you need certain files(which are legal) for each of the pops version.
      - For 6.60 ME, the current patch is not yet supported, but you can still play converted PSX games normally.

    Some? you only need one of the two versions.

    If you unsure which, state your PSP model, and firmware(I assume it was 6.39, right?)

    UPDATE:
    quick fix for both versions, fixed bugs when using GCL and CwCheat.

    Which PSP model is that? 1000, 2000, 3000, or GO?

    Yes, and make sure you use the right file.

    Since you don't have any CFW or HEN installed,
    - First, download this, and put it on your /PSP/GAME/ folder
    - Then run TN-A installer from your XMB
    - After that, check your System Information, make sure it was 6.39 TN-A
    - Download 6.39 Official Firmware, extract, then rename the EBOOT.PBP to 639.PBP
    - Copy 6.39.PBP to /PSP/GAME/UPDATE folder (create if you don't have one)
    - Next, copy to EBOOT.PBP from the ME-9.2 UPDATE folder to the /PSP/GAME/UPDATE
    - Unplug your USB cable, then run the installer from the XMB(not the TN-A installer).
    - When you've done, check you System Information again, it should be 6.39 ME-9.2 or something.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XrossMediaBar

    It basically series of icons or menus(such as GAME, VIDEO, SYSTEM, MUSIC, CAMERA, etc.) that will appear once you turn the PSP/PS3 on.

    Oh btw, 6.60 OFW has been released, for those who consider updating, don't accidentally use the automated software update, or you're screwed.
    Unlike 6.39, it patches any previous exploits, as well some1's downgrader.

    Yes, you need to have at least a CFW/HEN on your PSP before you can install this CFW.
    Since the installer can't be executed directly from OFW, and need certain CFWs/HEN to do so(read the Readme.txt)

    For now, just be patient and wait for some kind of tool, like a new downgrader to be released.
