I'm working on my Software Engineering bachelor's and I had to take an ethics class that was talking about physician assisted suicide, environmental issues, etc. Of course, it was a third year course. So it's entirely possible you would have had to take something ethics/environment/etc. related if you had gone for a bachelor's.
