Minecraft creators Mojang have already stated that if this bill passes, they are going to amend their terms of use/EULA to give permission to the players to post videos of what they have done in game. I can see a few socially conscious companies doing that, but not everyone. And yeah, technically it would only apply to Americans. So does not effect me at all.

Wrong, they go after a lot of torrent uploaders, you may not hear about it all the time, but they do, same with downloaders. Its sad, because they should be worried about drug cartels, gangs, pedophiles, terrorism etc.

Trust me they worry about drug cartels and paedophiles plenty. The FBI nor any other government organization get to pick their instances of investigation. They follow the same protocol regardless.

Yeah I'm the same way, too lazy to open ports as easy as it is. That and I can't be arsed to find torrents that actually have seeders.

The advantage of direct downloads, no need seeders and constant speed.

The government is unlikely to bring up charges if the company doesn't.

After all, that would cost the government more money (the cost of ongoing investigation, the cost of trials, and additionally the cost of imprisonment). And I don't see companies pulling up charges against Let's Plays, after all, that's like free advertising.

The government does love wasting money though.

Well I just came across this today. I've heard of similar things. I really hope this bill dosen't pass, but it could pass. I haven't looked deeply into it, so I don't know how high of a chance it has of passing, but if this deals with money and whatnot, it probably has a high possbility of passing. Of course I'd rather this not pass. It would be bad for all of us.
