still find it amusing how people say 250$ is cheap. GBA was 150$
but it was an expected price, any more and there would be less interest.

also, Sony, 250$ does not equal 250 euros.
250$ is 170 euros... europe. and Norway has its own currency, so the price here will be somewhat equal to 500 USD.

Well a Ds is for casual gaming and Since sony takes their games seriously we expect Sony products to be more pricey overall. Since the past has been repeated quite often with sony.
And if the PSP uses actual flash card like things for the games then wow Sony is trying to bring everything to the table since cards are overall easier to store and harder to damage. Makes me want one really bad! And if the PSPVita had a couple or atleast one USB A ports then Sony will be in buisness. And what about the playstation certified phone to come out? Will it play the games for Vita and will it be as well? if so then why buy this model when you can have a phone too?

The Xperia Play won't play Vita games, that thing doesn't even have the specs to play PSP games.

It happens all the time screwed. Wii launched for €249/$249, DS for €149/$149, PSP for €249/$249 etc. 3DS is more or less the same as well but Nintendo let the retailers set the price themselves.

To be fair, the Vita seems a lot more sophisticated than the 3DS and is overall a lot more impressive a piece of hardware..

Because the 3DS is very inferior and old hardware. Vita looks very good for only $250, but the 3DS should only sell for about $150.

Also, haha, people comparing older systems to new ones. I mean, the SNES was $200 when it first came out. It's just not fair to compare them to new ones.

I like it when consoles are cheaper, (when I have a job, price won't matter as much), I mean I got my GC for $100 , my PS2 for $50 (used), my 360 for $150 (used), my Wii for $200 (then a few months later another 2 price drops all the way to $149 makes me wish I had waited to get it). I think the Vita and 3DS are both worth it, and considering that Nintendo went the more expensive route based on the hardware and vice versa for Sony, If you would have bought both at say (3DS)$150 and (Vita)$350, you would have spent the same amount.

The PSP is technically stronger than the DS, but look how much more awesome is on the DS. Hopefully there's a lot more support for actual consistent quality through its lifetime.

All the people talking about the price of the Vita is pissing me off.

You know, us South Americans have our currencies devaluated as hell, on top of absolutely insane taxes for any imported goodies.
Where I live, electronic goods are mostly prohibited in terms of importation.
I dare say it'll cost about 2K here (which would be 500 U$D) AT BEST.
    No kidding.

STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT THE PRICE, GOD DAMN IT!!

And besides, why is the PSP disliked so much?
Myself I still can't believe of what the system is capable of and I wouldn't trade it for anything...

One thing I already dislike about the Vita is... its' name.

PSP has more Ys titles, and a version of the first two Ys games of SUPERIOR QUALITY, therefore your argument is invalid.

People dislike the PSP because its trendy to hate on Sony.
