    Default PSP Woes

So I have recently updated my PSP-1000 to 5.50 - Prometheus 4 in order to play MGS: Peace Walker which I had just purchased. This game works just fine loading from the UMD drive. However, now my homebrew games will not boot. I get the dreaded error, 80020148. Doing searches on the internet has not helped me because most people seem to get this error for loading ISOs. My homebrew is in the GAME150 folder.

When I try to load an ISO that I have on the memory stick I don't get an error message. My screen goes blank like it is loading the game, and then it freezes. I have tried every UMD driver in the configuration menu.

Does that also happen before updating your PSP firmware?

Which homebrew games? Move your homebrew to GAME folder instead.

if its the gen series, dont use it on the psp 1001, i went through 3 psp 1001's because of gen series (crashed my internet keys) so just do 5.00 with promethius and you will be ok.

I will do that later this afternoon. Thanks. I have been reading this thread, and it seems to confirm what you were saying.

    UPDATE
It will not let me "update" from 5.50 Prome-4 to 5.00 M33-6 because it says that my system is already version 9.90. I will have to do a bit more research.
