    Default Videogame artwork thread!

    Sup guys?

I don't know if there is anyone else but me in the world interested in box and manual art from games (specially old ones, like ones from the 16-bit era), so I'll use this thread to find out.

If you are amongst the few interested, where do you get your scans from? I use the Cover Project but I am not too pleased with their overall quality - the place has more custom art than original covers. And about manuals... I have a rather hard time getting ahold of any. I have two or three and that's about it...

    So, what about you?
Do you want to show what a badass art/manual your favorite games have?
Ever purchased a game just for the looks of the box?
Since we're at it, have you thought of adding your favorite games' covers to the site's descriptions?

Actually there is a thread for it, and it has huge packs of each system. Give me a minute to find it...

First thing I thought about when I saw this thread was art books. I've been working up my collection for that lately.

I definitely don't get box and manual art off the internet. If I want a complete copy I buy it. I first got into SMT because of the art tbh.

    Might post some faves later.

I don't care for SMT art. I rather like the art in the new Atelier games, the old art was fine, but the new is just... .

SMT art is so pro though, I just love the style.

I definitely dig Valkyria Chronicles as well.

It was funny back then because a lot of times the Japanese art would be awesome, and then they would have some really gawd awful mock up done for the American box. I understand it was done mostly because back then the Asian animation art style wasn't very well known overseas, but some of the changes were pretty bad.

I don't really think anything could ever beat the boxart to this game:

Amazing as that is.. The boxart is at least relevant to the game content.
Phalanx had no crazy old farmer dudes playing the banjo in it whatsoever.
