Default Wingman: Vertical, Horizontal, Rail, or Anything Else - "Shoot 'em Up" Discussion

There is a thread for fighters, so why not this .

Insane mode on Sonic Ironstorm is just that, I've had to bust out my Wingman Attack 2, and I still die .

lol I got an indie game for XBLA called Shoot 1 up that's really hard on the hard mode setting. The only offset cool thing about it is you have more than 1 ship on screen that you control (up to 30 with one player).
The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again.

I've been playing a lot of Trouble Witches lately, it's very fun. I got Castle of Shikigami 3 today, playing as soon as I get home .

There's a NEW game coming out for the dreamcast sometime soon that's looking really good. Can't remember the name of it.

Currently replaying one of my favorites, Ikaruga.

It's probably one of the best shmups I've ever played.

Everyone I've ever talked to about it claims it's super hard, I don't really think it is. It's an alright game, Castle of Shikigami is my favorite series.

I agree, I don't think it's super hard. That was the first time I was introduced to the polarity concept in a shmup so I pretty much fell in love with it.

Might also want to check out Ether Vapor and eXceed3rd.

If you're interested, I can provide links if you haven't already found them.

Ether Vapor is good, I prefer the remake of eXceed 2nd a little more than 3rd. Castle of Shikigami III is great .

Got a few more hours work done last night on my Shmup. Have no idea what to name it, but you can already tell it's quite influenced by my favorites, specifically Battle Bakraid.
