    Default Dolphin Speed Issue

Does anyone know of a good way to speed this emulator up a bit? I'm trying to play wind waker, about 75% of the time it works fine, the other 25% of the time its running between 45% and 55% speed. I tried screwing around with the settings a little bit and the only thing I managed to do to make it faster is change the frame rate to above 100 when the game slows down. But then it goes really really fast when it starts operating the way it should again. Its not a very efficient solution. Anyone know of a better way for me to be doing this?

I'm not seeing what you're talking about. I went through a couple of graphics related menus and the closest thing I'm seeing is graphics backend

My options under that menu are:

    Direct3D9
    Direct3D11
    Open GL
    I assumed you meant Direct3D11
I tried to run the game after changing to that and got this error message:
    Failed to load d3d11.dll
    Then the emulator crashed

When I tried to install it said I already had either an equivalent or newer version to no installation was necessary. So I'm guessing as far as that goes I'm where I should be

Hrm maybe your Graphics card cant take DX11

Looking at this (Compaired to mine)

You could try turning off as many background stuff as possible, Dolphin chomps hard on your CPU, also ive found you can get a healthy speed boost by running at 720p res (1280x720) or similar

Hey that last thing. The 720 res is working pretty well. Went from around 40% to around 60%. Which is at least playable without getting frustrating. It only really happens when theres a ton going on onscreen. I can live with this. Thanks for the help dude

If you're using the latest version, there should be a "Copy" option among the video plugin settings, right above Texture Cache. Setting it to Texture instead of RAM usually gives a decent speed boost. It's set to RAM by default, so many people forget to change it.
