Default Mega Man II: The Power Fighters

What do you guys think of this game? It is on the Arcade.

I seen this game played on Gamester81's live feed on Justin.TV a few nights ago and thought it looked fun as hell.

I wonder why they didn't make more Mega Man games like this? I mean they are easier then the regular Mega Man games. Even a console port of this same game would be nice. Or has it been released to consoles?

Here are some screenshots I took this morning:

I didn't play the power battle games much, but if I recall correctly they had some cool endings. Isn't it where you're told that a certain someone built some things and stuff?

    Michael Ballack, he scores free-kicks.
He's got black hair, and he's german.
    Michael Ballack, trains in paddocks.
in his spare time, HE FARMS HADDOCKS!
Watch me play Super C, guys!!

the Power battle games are ok, just fight various Megaman bosses all in a row.

Well on the Dr. Wily boss. I died with Mega Man, and I ended up picking ProtoMan, so I finished Wily off with ProtoMan, then Dr. Light was like "we need to repair you" or some shit like that, and ProtoMan just walked off. Then it went to the credits.

I might play through with all 4 characters, and see what happens.

Those assholes gave up on the X series, best series too, X needs one final game to connect it to MM Zero.

But, wasn't X dead in MM Zero? I mean, it takes place like, 100 years AFTER MMX...

    Well....

Not "dead" so much as "on serious life support and sort of a ghost". And it doesn't stop there from being multiple instances of clones (Copy X, Copy X mk. II) and slightly altered replicas (the Guardians). Time is meaningless since machines are more or less immortal anyway, they just tend to have state mandated expiration dates. Of course, by the time Z/ZX roll around people don't care too much for that sort of thing/there are alternatives.

Of course, originally the canon X5 ending had X turning "evil" (when examined more closely, it's more that he has simply had a shift in viewpoint and is a lot less resistant to extreme methods as long as it's for the greater good, to the point where he's gotten worse at it than Zero was.) and this happens after scientist turned cyber-zombie Dr. Light tinkers around inside his head. And then he turns up as one of the major "antagonists" of the Zero series, so there's that too.

They did that, it was called X5.

Not Inafune's fault they greenlit a sequel without consulting him.

I wouldn't mind seeing a game like this, with the X series.

They're actually included in Megaman Anniversary Collection, but you have to beat MM1-3 (somewhere between them. I forgot which) to access the both of them.
