Earthquake & Tsunami in Japan

I do not know about you guys but last night at 10pm PST I saw a huge Tsunami wash away miles of Japannese farm land. It was like the movie 2012! I watched for like 2hours and it was just horrible.

Everyone here should send some supplys and money to help support your fellow gamers and a country that needs it. Contact your local red cross and other volunter organazitions and see how you can help.

I am in CA and I the news here says we have to be careful cause the whole Pacific Ocean is in turmoil.

I wish I could help more than just money. I live in the same state as you do and I saw the breaking news around 11 P.M.. I was just shocked how the tsunami "consumed" Sendai. I couldn't believe it for myself 'til some time later.

It was like the movie 2012!

I don't really think this thread title is appropriate. This was a horrific and tragic event, one of the most devastating natural disasters in a very long time. I am absolutely reeling from the news of this, and I.. I wish there were something I could do for these people.

You see images of disasters like this on the news quite often, but here in Britain we don't really get natural disasters, so it can all feel very detached and otherworldly. This, though, is like...Japan. Japanese is my second language, and most all of my tutors have family there. My brother and a good two dozen of my friends live there. Heck I was actually in Sendai less than a year ago. It's incredibly unsettling to see images of this on the news and know it's hitting somewhere so close to home for me. I'm just grateful than nobody I know was hurt. It's a minor comfort, but in the face of tragedies like this you have to count even the smallest blessings.

Probably my first thought on this was that I was very thankful you weren't there.. I would have been terrified if you had been. Though terror sunk in in a different way as I began to review just how much devastation this caused.. This is truly unbelievable..

There is still a tsunami advisory for where I live. The alert is off, but apparently I'm supposed to keep my eyes out for really big waves.

How does something like this even happen? Most roads in the US would split into several blocks rather than strips like this.

Looks prettier than what happened here in Monterrey with Hurricane Alex, my girlfriend works near this place and the streets just exploded or something.



But yeah, it's like a perfect, surgical cut.
