What is the most overrated game you've ever played?

Sorry if already have another thread about this. But, i think this is a very interesting topic: overrated games.

In your opinion, what games don't deserve the fame they have?

I start with "Dark Cloud 2", PS2. The game is called of "the ps2's zelda". LOL
The dungeons are ridiculous and repetitive, there's no puzzles. How he can be the "ps2's zelda" when there's no puzzles in the dungeons? The controls in combats are terrible. And he win high scores in the critic's review. How that's is possible? I think he is the most overrated game i ever played... and you?

Also: Any new shooter game. They are all just the same thing. Thats why I enjoy playing my Genesis a LOT more.

You totally beat me to it Jack Frost . Since you already said FFVII, I'll go with Persona, the whole series, the rest of the SMT games are pretty overrated too.

Nintendogs. Nintendogs Nintendogs Nintendogs... either that or the entire Animal Crossing series. Both of those games are just repetitive chores one after another with no real lasting value (especially taking your dog on walks...). They're fun maybe as social games, but that's what real life is for . Then again, visiting other peoples' towns in Animal Crossing is kinda fun.

Behind both of those is Jak and Daxter. I've only played the first one so far, but that game is short! Relative to the 3D Mario games, that is. The game is fun, but it's not nearly as good as the reviews put it out to be. More in the 3/5, 4/5 at most range.

Now that those are out of the way, how about Left 4 Dead?

I mean, it's very good, but seriously, in its heyday, people went apeshit.

One game I've played that lived up to the hype: Kingdom Hearts.

Did not disappoint one bit.

I hadn't ever heard that said about Dark Cloud 2. And if it's true, then yeah, it's daft. The game's pretty decent in its own right, but it definitely wasn't the end-all of gaming

Personally, the most overrated game I've ever played... eh, I'll go with Final Fantasy XIII. Despite it being shit, it continues to score immensely high reviews, astonishing me. And I adore Final Fantasy VII. But, as Gare said, I'm perfectly capable of seeing that the game is massively overhyped.

Not as good as other FF games were, but definitely not shit, the battle system is actually pretty good.
